(In Chinese only)Construction Begins on World's First Accelerator-Driven Transmutation Research Facility in Huizhou
The world's first accelerator-driven transmutation research facility, CiADS, is under rapid construction in Huizhou, Guangdong, now entering the critical phase of core equipment installation. This pioneering technology, with no prior precedent globally, is slated for completion by 2027. It will significantly enhance uranium utilization and reduce nuclear waste lifespan, while also driving the development of the Greater Bay Area's nuclear energy sector. Furthermore, it will ensure a more stable and advanced supply of isotopes for fields like high-end medical treatment and aerospace nuclear batteries.
